Color Fun Birthday Party

Everyone’s heard of the Color Run but what about a Color Fun Party?! Since two of my girls (Eva and Olivia) have birthdays just a week apart, we always have one big party for the both of them (don’t worry–they each get their own special day on their actual birthday). With so many children I feel like we’ve been through so many themes already;  but this one was new to us all.

The kids used straws and blew the paint to make the most interesting and colorful little canvases.2245016

This was one of the pictures we took trying to find the one to go on their invitation.

I made swirly color cupcakes. They didn’t turn out exactly as I had hoped, but the kids still liked them.

We had color trivia. All of the birthday parties I host have Trivia. For example: What is the most popular color worldwide? and (A) Black and red (B) yellow and red (C) green and red are the most appetite inducing colors.

It’s just too good!

We had relays with colored water and buckets. We played Twister with paint on certain dots. I gave them a couple of cans of shaving cream to add to the game just for fun. We had a Make a Rainbow Race.

THEN, we had a COLOR FIGHT.

One of the best things was seeing everyone laughing and smiling. My dad (seen below with the white hair) had insisted he just wanted to watch; but my mother and I forced him to play along. He obviously had a great time!

The best news (besides everyone having so much fun) was that it all washed off in the shower, which didn’t seem possible at the time.

I ordered the powder from an American based  company on Amazon. When the paint broke inside the box, they were really awesome and replaced it overnight!! We still have a lot of powder left…I just need another reason to PAAAARTY!!!

I linked the company above only because they were so great. I don’t receive anything from it. Just paying it forward.

Until next year…

This weekend I will be putting all of my favorite decorations away. I love my Halloween decorations so much that they actually get dragged out of storage the week after Labor Day and happily put out in their places.

I try to buy as much as I can after Halloween to store away until the next year.  I love pulling out the new stuff every year. 171

180As I lovingly pack away all my decorations, I am honestly counting the moments until I can replace them with Christmas things. I have a weird relationship with Thanksgiving…it needs better decorations. How can I decorate with a variety of casseroles and a parade I haven’t even seen this year. Forget about the Pilgrims (they’re outfits are atrocious). Until next year, Bony Moroney! You and you’re little dogs will be missed!

Hilton Head Island

At the beginning of the summer my family took a wonderful trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina. It is truly one of my favorite places. We took both sets of grandparents and we truly had a grand time. There were the most wonderful memories made.We tried new things like paddle boarding, which I absolutely loved!  We had fabulous weather and stayed at the most amazing house.

The children played Bean Boozled with their grandparents. We all thought it was hilarious when my dad, Boobah, got dog food three times in a row. All four were great sports! We had countless hours of fun in the infinity pool.

We had a wonderful time on the amazingly beautiful beach. We found all kinds of little sea creatures.

This vacation was one that had it all. We had an amazing time together and made memories that will last a lifetime.

Hello Out There

I’ve been thinking of starting a blog for a while and finally decided today was the day.

I’m Samantha and I live in the south and I have my whole life. I tend to fall in love with all things sweetly southern. I love being called “Darlin'” and “Sugar” by perfect strangers. I love talking to people. I love manners. I love planning and hosting almost any kind of celebration. I love Disney. I love monograms. I love the beach. I love my family most of all!

The “Loved” part of the blog name comes from the first letter of each one of my children’s names. (We had L,O,V without realizing it and then purposely named the last two names that would finish it.) I am blessed to be their mother and a wife to a great hard-working man!

I hope this little blog will help me better document our family moments, as well as a way to get to “talk” to people I would never get to know otherwise.

I can’t wait to meet you!!
